Market momentum

Marché Jean Talon 3 by Jennifer Appel
Trying to keep my momentum sketching the market, I tried a sketch one weekend last month.

The locals know that the market is packed on the weekends (and more expensive). We usually visit at other times. And Urban Sketchers are hard to find respect.

So this time, I went behind the stall and found one that had quite a lot of action. I realized, this is where the locals go. Local resto owners came by to pick up their orders. Others came by to discuss what's in season and about growing certain types of plants. Even a distant brother/cousin of Fabio works at this stall! Except he spied me drawing, got shy and disappeared.

I still had to sketch quickly, I got pushed aside a couple of times. Montreallers take their market-going seriously!
