Metro sketching

Metro Place des Arts turnstiles

Yesterday, the Montreal Urban sketching group met for the February Sunday sketching meetup. This time we decided on doing a metro sketch crawl. Being February, the snow is still falling outside, but the subway and the pedways that connect to the metro are filled with things to sketch.

I tried a few new materials – a different sketchbook, some watercolour pencils, and non-permanent ink. I'm not sure about the result, but it was fun to just play around and experiment.

The woman in the ticket booth waved me over at the end of my sketch. I thought she was just curious to have a look, but she asked me if I had a permit to sketch! (No, you don't need a permit in Montreal). I don't think she is a big fan of the arts.

  1. Un permis pour sketcher ?! C'est nimporte quoi... Attention de fournir votre trajet la prochaine fois, si vous voulez pas avoir d'ennuis :P
Blagues à part - superbe ce sketch !

  2. Haha! Ouin. Faut pas avoir des rassemblements non-communiqués! Les Urban Sketchers, une groupe dangereuse!! Nous avons des pinceaux! ;¬)

  3. Great sketch Jen. Typical Montreal story. No sketching in the metro. Good thing she didn't come out and punch you.
