Butter people

The Illuminated Crowd
The Illuminated Crowd, by Raymond Mason is a sculpture that stands at the foot of the Laurentian Bank Tower in downtown Montreal. I call them the Butter People because it is a soft buttery yellow colour (and leads me to think about the Butter Dome from my University of Alberta days). This is my third time sketching it – my proportions are still off and I am missing a few characters at the end. Maybe the fourth time I'll get them all in! Still, this is a nice spot for a quiet, late afternoon sketch on a hot day.

  1. Good thing they didn't melt!! Sorry... I had to. They remind me of the "Butter Jesus" that did melt in Ohio when the church burnt down.

  2. Maybe you missed some, but the ones you did draw are very nice!
