Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier

The colour is the only thing keeping this sketch together, believe me.

But this sketch is part of a bigger plan. I really don't like sketching in public. I'm just too self-conscious. As soon as there are people around, my eyes can't see anymore and I lose all concentration. But since summer is coming (although you'd believe otherwise with this weather), I am trying to get out more and start desensitizing myself into sketching.

On the way home I stopped at Place des Arts for a quick sketch of the Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier auditorium. If you click the image in this link, you can get a good idea of where I was sitting. The photo is quite dated, though. Right now the whole place is under construction and the site around Wilfrid-Pelletier has completely transformed. The plan is to make this area the "Quartier des spectacles". It will be nice, once done, ... in 3, 4, maybe 5 years. (Don't want to know what the final budget will come to).

  1. It's interesting, the drawing in public thing - I use my sketchbook as a way of avoiding social awkwardness, I think, and always feel more comfy if I know I can withdraw into doodling. Which is probably not healthy either...

Hope you have a productive summer though. I stumbled over your blog via illustration Friday and it's lovely
